Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, on Thursday, reprimanded party MLA Bima Bharti for raising questions over re-induction of Leshi Singh, who has been a minister for many years, and said the rebellious legislator will be properly briefed by the party.

Bharti, a former minister herself, was livid over the re-induction of Singh and sought to know what does Kumar see in her. I am upset that Singh always gets picked to be in the cabinet, she said, adding, "What does the CM see in her? She is repeatedly involved in incidents in her area; disrespects the party. Why are we not listened to? Is it because we are from a backward caste."

Bharti had threatened to quit if Singh remains a minister. "If Leshi Singh is not removed, I will resign from the party. If my allegation against her is wrong, then I will resign as an MLA," she was quoted as saying.

Kumar said he was "shocked" by the statements given by Bharati, and pointed out that she was part of the cabinet in 2014 and 2019.

The CM said he will meet her and discuss about her comments. "We will talk to her Bharti) and try to convince her not to give such statements about the party. If she does not understand and wants to go anywhere else, she can think about it," Kumar was quoted as saying.

Kumar said he cannot make everyone minister every time and pointed out that such outbursts by MLAs should not happen.
