IMD predicts extremely heavy rainfall in South

Widespread rainfall predicted in Bihar, Odisha, and Jharkhand

The Indian Meteorological Department predicted on Tuesday extremely heavy rainfall over southern states during the week.

In its bulletin, the weather agency said fairly widespread rainfall with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorm, lightning was likely over Telangana on August 2-6; Rayalaseema and Lakshadweep during August2-4; Goa on 2nd, south coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam on August 5 and over Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal and Kerala and Mahe during August 2-5.

IMD predicted isolated very heavy rainfall likely over coastal and South Karnataka, North interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal and Kerala and Mahe during during this week.

Extremely heavy rainfall was predicted over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal today and tomorrow, over Kerala and Mahe from August 2-4.

Fairly widespread/widespread rainfall was forecast over Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Arunachal Pradesh, sub-Himalayan, West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during the week.
