Appreciating the effort and hard work of women, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that the Banas Dairy Complex is an example of how the cooperative moment can give a boost to Atmanirbhar Bharat.

He was laying foundation stones of various projects of the Banas Dairy. He also launched the first radio service for the dairy sector.

Addressing a vast gathering in Hindi and the local language, Gujarati, at Diyodar, Modi said that the Banas Dairy and the efforts of women have shown how traditional produce can be used for future growth.

Modi appreciated the manner in which agriculture has been taken up in the area and additional products are also being targeted. He emphasised that this was happening despite less rainfall in the region.

Having spoken about less rainfall, Modi exhorted the people to dig 75 large ponds before the onset of monsoon this year, as part of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav.

In an election year for Gujarat, Modi also spoke about various schemes of the NDA government. He did not miss the opportunity to compare his government's record with that of previous dispensations. He said that earlier, the prime ministers said that when they release Rs 1, only 10 paise used to reach people, but now 100 paisa reaches.

He also spoke about how the 'Seema Darshan' at Nadabet brings in income for the people of Banskantha. Seema Darshan, he said, is towards the efforts of keeping the borders and the villages alive. He also mentioned about the famous Rann Utsav in the border district of Kutch.

Modi is on a three-day visit to the state. Upon his arrival on Monday evening, Modi visited the command and control centre for schools in Gandhinagar. The centre helps in monitoring the government-run schools.

At Diyodar, Modi also spoke about how he was impressed by the command and control centre for schools. “I was scheduled to be there for about an hour, but I got so engrossed that I spent about two to two-and-half hours,” he said.
