Clickastro gets selected for Google and MeitY's Appscale Academy programme

On Wednesday, Google and MeitY Startup Hub, an initiative of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), announced the selection of the Clickastro app by Astrovision from Kerala for its programme of Appscale Academy. Clickastro is among a handful of chosen apps from Kerala for the programme, which is six months long. As part of the programme, startups will be trained through a customised curriculum designed to help them drive high-quality apps for a global market.

Applications were invited for the Appscale Academy programme in October 2021, and 400 plus applications were received. In the first cohort, 100 startups were selected from an application of 400. The selection panel comprised members from MeitY Startup Hub, Nasscom and Google. The programme looks to train early- to mid-stage startups across India.

The cohort spans many key sectors, including Education, Health, Finance, Social, E-commerce, Gaming and others. Clickastro.com was showcased among the e-commerce group. It also includes startups supporting core communities in India through creative apps across agriculture, B2B, parenting, and more.

"This is a great chance for us as we look to expand our reach globally. Our recent rebranding exercise was also aligned with these thoughts. The training and interaction will bring great learning and opportunities our way," said Arjun Ravindran, Managing Director, Clickastro.
