The Karnataka government has announced the withdrawal of night curfew from January 31 and said that schools and colleges will reopen from Monday.

The Covid-19 curbs are being eased as the recovery rate in the state has been steadily rising over the last few days.

"From Monday, all classes will be operational in schools with the strict implementation of COVID19 appropriate behaviour and protocol," said Karnataka Education Minister B.C. Nagesh.

“Marriage functions are permitted with 200 members indoors and 300 outdoors,” he told ANI.

“Gyms will continue at 50 per cent capacity. Bars and hotels have been allowed to open. Government offices to work at 100 per cent capacity.

“Offering prayers in the temples is also allowed. Protests, sit-ins and religious congregations and political programmes are prohibited,” he said.

The new guidelines add that 25 per cent of beds in private hospitals are to be reserved for Covid patients.
