Subsequently, the Vanniyar Sangam backed by the PMK filed a defamation case against Suriya and the makers of Jai Bhim, and sought Rs 5 crore in damages.

Suriya who had donated Rs 1 crore to the Irula tribes, on Tuesday, called on Parvati, the real-life Sengeni and gave her Rs 10 lakhs. Following several threats issued against Suriya, police security has been provided at his house in Chennai.
