Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad president Mahant Narendra Giri, who died by suicide recently, feared that his photo would be morphed with that of a woman in intimate position and made viral.

The seer, who was the president of the largest organisation of sadhus in India, was found hanging by his disciples at Baghambari Muth in Allahabad on Monday.

According to media reports, the alleged suicide note of the prominent Hindu seer also revealed that he tried to kill himself on September 13, but was couldn't muster enough courage.

According to The Print, the suicide note, written in Hindi, says the seer had come to know that his disciple Anand Giri, with whom he had a fallout, was planning to morph his image with that of a woman and make it go viral. He wrote that he feared that this would tarnish his image for ever.

“I was about to commit suicide on 13 September, but could not muster the courage,” said the suicide note, reported The Print.

“People will eventually know the truth that I never did that with any woman, but by then my image will get tarnished," the seer reportedly wrote, and added that once his image is lost, he would never be able to recover from that. "I cannot live to see that," he wrote, adding that he has decided to end his life.

In the note, he also denied allegations of financial irregularities, saying he used every penny for the development of muths and temples.

Meanwhile, a panel of five doctors, on Wednesday, conducted the post-mortem examination of Mahant Narendra Giri, and submitted the report to officials.

After the post-mortem, the body was taken to the Baghambri Gaddi Muth where preparations were being made to bathe the body in the Ganges and the last rites will be held later in the day.

The Uttar Pradesh Police had, on Tuesday, constituted an 18-member SIT to probe the death of the seer and detained a disciple of his in Haridwar while Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said all aspects related to the death are being investigated and the guilty will not be spared.
