The politics of casteism, familialism, dynasty and communalism has been brought to an end in India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said BJP president J.P. Nadda on Saturday in an apparent jibe at the Congress party. Addressing party workers across 27,700 booths in Uttar Pradesh virtually, Nadda said the politics of development has become popular since Modi came to power.

"It is a matter of pride for us that under the leadership of PM Modi, the politics of casteism, familialism, dynasty and communalism in the country has been brought to an end and the politics of development has become popular," said Nadda.

The BJP chief launched the booth Vijay Abhiyan in UP where assembly polls are due early next year.

Taking a dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Nadda said: “We have political leaders who go abroad for vacation even when Parliament session is on”.

Nadda predicted a grand victory for the BJP in the Assembly elections. “Not only in UP but the return of BJP is certain in Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur too,” he said.

Further praising the leadership of Modi, Nadda said under him, BJP won 325 seats in the 2017 state polls. In the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha polls, too, people of Uttar Pradesh gave their support to the politics of development, said the BJP president.

Nadda also lauded the government’s vaccination drive, saying India was the only country that has vaccinated over 70 crore people so far. Three times India has achieved the target of administering one crore Covid vaccine doses a day, he added.
