Delhi chief minister and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal said his party will make an important announcement in the poll-bound Uttarakhand on Tuesday.

Taking to Twitter, the Delhi CM said, "I am going to Uttarakhand tomorrow. Aam Aadmi Party is going to make a very important announcement tomorrow. This announcement will prove to be a milestone for the progress and development of Uttarakhand."

Uttarakhand assembly polls are scheduled to be held next year.

A few weeks ago, Kejriwal had said if his party is elected to power in Uttarakhand, free electricity up to 300 units per month to every family will be offered to people in the state. He also promised to waive old bills and give free electricity to farmers.

He had then said his government had done all these in Delhi and can replicate them in Uttarakhand as well.

The offer of freebies is seen as the attempt of the AAP to woo the voters in a state that is being ruled by the BJP.

The AAP which has not been able to win a single seat in the state in the past elections has plans to emerge as an alternative to both Congress and BJP in the next assembly polls.
