Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will visit the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir on August 9.

According to news agency ANI, the Congress leader is expected to meet the party workers there. This is Rahul Gandhi's first visit to Jammu and Kashmir ever since the abrogation of Article 370.

During the breakfast meeting of Opposition leaders, hosted by Rahul Gandhi at the Constitution Club on Tuesday, the Congress leader had said he was planning to visit the Union territory soon.

Reports suggest that Rahul Gandhi may stay in Jammu and Kashmir for a few days.

“He told us that he will go to Kashmir soon. During our chat, which was just a general discussion during breakfast, Rahul said he also planned to go to Kerala but couldn’t go,” Hindustan Times had quoted a senior non-Congress leader as saying.

Further details awaited.
