DMK MP Kanimozhi tests positive for COVID-19, cancels campaigning

According to reports, she is in home isolation

DMK MP Kanimozhi tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday.

Kanimozhi, who represents Thoothukudi in the Lok Sabha, had been involved in campaigning for the DMK for the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly polls.

Kanimozhi has cancelled her participation in the campaigning. According to reports, she is in home isolation. Kanimozhi is half-sister of DMK chief M.K. Stalin.

Like in other parts of India, the second wave of COVID-19 has hit Tamil Nadu. On Friday, Tamil Nadu recorded 3,290 COVID-19 cases, the highest figure since October last year.

The state has reported a total of 8,92,780 COVID-19 cases and 12,750 fatalities from the pandemic.
