Congress MP from Tamil Nadu's Sivaganga, Karti Chidambaram, who had in November said he wanted Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to contest election from the state, has once again reiterated his demand.
In an application filed before the Congress' state election committee, Chidambaram requested that Vadra be named candidate for the bypoll to Kanyakumari Lok Sabha constituency, which fell vacant after the death of sitting MP Vasanthamumar due to COVID-19 last year.
The bypoll to the Lok Sabha constituency is scheduled to be held on April 6.
