A video clip has gone viral, which showed BJP national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya saying that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was instrumental in the felling of Kamal Nath government in Madhya Pradesh.

The Congress has circulated the video clip from Vijayvargiya's address in a farmers' convention held in Indore on Wednesday, to claim that its allegation that BJP had conspired to dislodge the Kamal Nath government had been proven true.

In the clip, Vijayvargiya is heard saying: “I will tell you something that is behind the curtain. Don't tell this to anyone. This is for the first time I am revealing this. If anyone played important role in felling the Kamal Nath government, it was Narendra Modi-ji. [Union minister] Dharmendra Pradhan had no role to play in it.”

MP Congress spokesman Narendra Saluja tweeted the clip, saying “Prime minister of the country, Narendra Modi unconstitutionally fells an elected government. BJP's national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya is saying this. This is a confirmation of allegations of Congress."

In another tweet, Saluja said that Vijayvargiya had himself accepted that PM Modi played a crucial role in felling Kamal Nath government. The Congress was saying this right from the beginning, but the BJP kept on lying that the Kamal Nath government collapsed due to internal frictions. But now the truth has come out.

This is the second time that the Congress has tried to corner BJP leaders for felling of Congress government in March 2020 by quoting their own statements. In June, video clips of chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan saying that the central leadership of BJP had directed felling of the Kamal Nath government, had similarly gone viral.

In the clip, Chouhan could be heard saying, "Kendriya netritva ne tay kiya, sarkar girni chahiye. Yeh barbad kar degi, tabaah kar degi. Aur yeh batao, Jyotiraditya Scindia ji aur Tulsi bhai ke bina sarkar gir sakti thi kya? Aur koi tariqa nahi tha..." (The [BJP] central leadership decided that the [Congress] government should fall. This [government] will ruin, destroy everything. And tell me, was collapse of the [Congress] government possible without Jyotiraditya Scindia and Tulsi Silawat? There was no other way).
