Sainik Schools admission process begins, entrance to be held on January 10

The process of admitting cadets into Class VI and Class IX for the ensuing academic year has started at the Sainik School, Kalikiri in Chittoor district.

Ten cadets from the school have successfully cleared the Union Public Service Commission NDA and INA 2020 written test and are waiting for the interview call from the Service Selection Board. Sainik schools, which have qualified staff, was conceptualized by the former defence minister, V.K. Krishna Menon to bridge the gap of regional and class imbalance among officer cadres of the Indian armed forces. 

The staff of the Sainik schools also include experienced defence service officers and state of the art facilities to train cadets to become officers in the armed forces and other elite services,

The entrance exams for admissions to classes VI and IX in 33 Sainik Schools spread across the 23 states and one union territory will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on 10 January 2020

The process of online applications started on 20 October and will close on 19 November 2020. Candidates are required to submit their applications after registering on the website https://aissee.nta.nic.in

A reservation category for OBC-NCL has been introduced. Girl candidates will also be admitted to class VI in Sainik Schools.
