The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Friday alleged that the Nitish Kumar government is deliberately denying security to party leader Tejashwi Yadav during his election rallies. Party MP Manoj Jha said the security of Tejashwi is “completely compromised” at rally venues.

“People are assembling in large numbers and breaking the barricades. They are reaching out to him even at the helipad. It is a threat to his life apart from creating hurdles in the helicopter operation. Such a situation could lead to an accident,” Jha said, reported IANS.

Jh said based on a complaint filed by the party on October 21, the Election Commission had directed the District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police of all the 38 districts of Bihar to arrange proper security to Tejashwi. However, the state government has yet to provide security to him, he alleged.

Tejashwi is the chief ministerial candidate of the opposition Grand Alliance.

Last week, Tejashwi was attacked with slippers while campaigning for Congress candidate from Kutumba assembly seat in Aurangabad district. The RJD leader was sitting on the dais when someone from the crowd hurled slippers towards him.
