In a tweet on Thursday superstar Rajinikanth said that he will decide on launching his political party at the right time after consulting the members of his Rajini Makkal Mandram (RMM).

A debate on Rajinikant's political entry, once again sparked off in Tamil Nadu, after a note circulated among his inner circles was leaked on social media. The internal note, which circulated in the form of a statement, gave out details of his health condition and how his health could impact his political entry. If the leaked statement is to be believed, then Rajinikanth's political entry might not happen ahead of the May 2021 Assembly elections and the reason is the COVID-19 pandemic.

Clarifying on this leaked statement, Rajinikanth in his tweet said that, "the letter circulating in social media is not my statement. But the contents in the letter regarding my health and advice by medical experts to me are true. I will discuss with the executives of my RMM and make an announcement about my political plunge."

The tweet came hours after social media was abuzz with messages on Rajinikant calling it quits from taking an active political plunge. The 70-year-old actor who reportedly underwent a renal transplant in 2016 at the famed Mayo Clinic in Rochester USA, has put his next film project Annaththe on hold, due to COVID-19. Sources close to Rajinikanth in the RMM say that his doctors had cautioned him that he cannot afford to catch an infection during the pandemic. In fact, the leaked letter said that "even a corona vaccine may not guarantee him the required immunity considering he was already on immunosuppressants."

Though the leaked communique portrays Rajiniknath to be brave and one who "doesn't fear for life," it means that the actor would have to rethink his political entry.

Incidentally, the tweet on Thursday, has again made it more evident that that he will rethink his political entry. But sources close to him say that the superstar will call it off altogether in the run up to the elections, either in January or February 2021.
