The Central Bureau of Investigation, which is probing the alleged gangrape and death of a dalit girl at Hathras in Uttar Pradesh, has found that one of the four accused is a minor. According to reports, a CBI team has visited the residence of the accused and taken his school certificates.

"They also took some of my elder son's clothes along with the mark sheet. He is a minor," the mother of the accused was quoted as saying by IANS.

All the four accused in the case have been lodged at the Aligarh jail.

It is not clear as to why the UP Police, which initially investigated the case, did not determine the age of the accused.

The Yogi Adityanath government has been under attack from opposition over the Hathras incident in which a 19-year-old dalit woman from the district was allegedly raped and attacked by four men. She later succumbed to injuries at a Delhi hospital.
