Former Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot on Monday met newly-appointed AICC general secretary in charge of the state, Ajay Maken.
“This afternoon, met and greeted Ajay Maken ji after he was appointed the AICC General Secy In-charge of Rajasthan,” tweeted Pilot.
The appointment of Maken as general secretary had come in the wake of a rebellion led by Pilot, which had even pushed the Ashok Gehlpot government to the brink of a collapse.
Though the rebellion was quelled and a truce reached with Pilot and the other MLAs, the party leadership has announced a three-member panel to help in the smooth resolution of the issues raised by them.
Maken was recently sent as observer by the party to Rajasthan to help resolve the differences and save the government from the possibility of losing its majority in the state assembly.
Maken replaced Avinash Pandey as the party general secretary in charge of Rajasthan.
Pande's exit is apparently a follow-up step taken in pursuance to the truce talks that were held in Delhi between Pilot and senior Congress leaders after which he had called off his rebellion and headed to Jaipur. Pilot is learnt to have been at odds with Pande, who he saw as being pro-Gehlot and unsympathetic to his concerns.
