Continuing his attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the issue of Chinese incursions in Ladakh, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi rued the prime minister's lack of personal courage and media's silence.

In a tweet, the Congress leader said the government is “scared to face up to Chinese intentions in Ladakh.”

Gandhi, who had earlier said Modi's "strongman image" is "now India's biggest weakness", said the prime minister's “personal lack of courage and the media’s silence will result in India paying a huge price.”

“GOI is scared to face up to Chinese intentions in Ladakh. Evidence on the ground indicates that China is preparing and positioning itself. PM’s personal lack of courage and the media’s silence will result in India paying a huge price,” the Congress leader wrote.

Even as he has been targetting the Centre over the issue of Chinese incursions, the Congress leader has been training his guns on the prime minister. After the publication of a report mentioning Chinese 'transgressions' in eastern Ladakh in May on the defence ministry website—which was later removed—Gandhi had tweeted, "Forget standing up to China, India’s PM lacks the courage even to name them. Denying China is in our territory and removing documents from websites won’t change the facts,"

Gandhi had earlier said Modi had fabricated a fake strongman image to come to power.

Last month, in a video message, the Congress leader had said China had taken advantage of India's weakening economy and deteriorating foreign relations to launch its incursions across the Line of Actual Control.
