Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday continued to warn the Narendra Modi government on the issue of Chinese intrusions in Ladakh.

Since the first reports of Chinese transgressions of the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in May, Rahul Gandhi had been demanding answers from the Modi government on the situation in Ladakh and had been bitterly critical of its handling of the situation after the clash at Galwan on June 15.

On Saturday, Rahul posted a video report from news outlet The Print about Ladakhi activists who claimed to have repeatedly warned of Chinese intrusions into the region.

The Print video referred to Urgain Chodon, a block development council official, who had warned on June 11 that Chinese soldiers had erected tents near Demchok.

Rahul warned, "Patriotic Ladakhis are raising their voice against Chinese intrusion. They are screaming a warning. Ignoring their warning will cost India dearly. For India’s sake, please listen to them."

On Friday, Rahul Gandhi had adopted the same approach of sharing a video of people who claimed China had encroached into Ladakh.

Rahul wrote, "Ladakhis say: China took our land. PM says: Nobody took our land. Obviously, someone is lying." Rahul was referring to a statement by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at an all-party meeting on June 19 that no Indian post had been captured.

However, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra hit out at Rahul over the video shared on Friday. Patra alleged the people in the video were "Congress members". Patra tweeted, "SHAME ON YOU @RahulGandhi You use Congress workers to demean our ARMY by spreading lies and canards while Our Prime Minister was in the Front encouraging our Jawans … You don’t deserve to be a leader!!”
