Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday continued his criticism of the Narendra Modi government's approach to combating COVID-19.

In a tweet, Rahul claimed that the lockdown imposed by the Modi govt proved right the line of legendary physicist Albert Einstein, “The only thing more dangerous than ignorance is arrogance.”

In the tweet, Rahul attached a graph showing the progress of the economy and COVID-19 fatalities during the four phases of the lockdown. The graph shows the economy bar falling, while the COVID-19 bar rises steadily. The graph had the title “Flattening the wrong curve”. Incidentally, industrialist Rajiv Bajaj had said India had flattened the wrong curve during his recent publicised interaction with Rahul.

In the last two weeks, Rahul Gandhi has adopted the practice of uploading graphs on Twitter to show the surge in COVID-19 cases despite the lockdown. On June 13, Rahul tweeted, "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” In the tweet, Rahul attached four separate graphs for the four phases of the lockdown that showed COVID-19 infections rising steadily.

On June 12, Rahul uploaded a video representation showing the countries worst affected by COVID-19. Last week, India surged to fourth position among countries worst affected by COVID-19. Rahul tweeted, "India is firmly on it's way to winning the wrong race. A horrific tragedy, resulting from a lethal blend of arrogance and incompetence."

On June 5, Rahul tweeted graphs comparing the fall in COVID-19 cases in Spain and Germany after their lockdown periods with the surge in India, writing, "This is what a failed lockdown looks like." Both Spain and Germany saw a fall in COVID-19 numbers after their lockdown periods ended.
