Premier League clubs to discuss ending season by June 30

English Premier League clubs are scheduled to meet on Friday to decide on the fate of this year's championship, which has been halted since March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Guardian reported, "A resolution to consign the 2019-20 campaign to history by 30 June, whether or not the entire schedule of games has been completed, will be among the proposals put to the league."

While most teams have nine games left to play, Manchester City, Sheffield United, Arsenal and Aston Villa have 10 games each remaining. One of the factors cited in favour of ending the season by June 30 is the fact that a large number of player and staff contracts are scheduled to expire that month.
