A day after 8 people were killed and dozens injured in violence in several parts of northeast Delhi, stone pelting and clashes were reported in multiple areas including Bhajanpura Chowk, Shiv Vihar and Ashok Nagar.

Stone pelting was reported in Bhajanpura Chowk. Media reports claimed that two fire tenders were damaged in Gokulpuri. The BBC aired footage of mobs armed with sticks and stones in Gokulpuri, chanting 'Jai Shri Ram'. NDTV reported a tyre market in Gokulpuri was set on fire. In Maujpur, which witnessed extensive violence on Monday, a bike was set ablaze.

Two NDTV journalists—Arvind Gunasekar and Saurabh Shukla—were allegedly attacked by a mob.

In Ashok Nagar, Scroll quoted witnesses as saying there were no police personnel on duty. NDTV reported that incidents of looting occurred in Maujpur, Karaval Nagar, Bahajanpur, Vijay Park and Yamuna Vihar.

The violence occurred even as the Centre imposed prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the CrPC in Delhi for one month.
