Commotion prevailed at an anti-CAA and NRC protest organised at Bengaluru's Freedom Park after a student raised pro-Pakistan slogans during her inaugural talk. The event, organised by Hindu Muslim Sikh Isai Federation, was also attended by AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi.

Amulya Leona, a 19-year-old BA Journalism student hailing from Chikmagalur and studying in the Bengaluru's NMKRV College has been actively participating in agitations against the amended citizenship law and NRC. She raised the slogan "Pakistan Zindabad" thrice, but the crowd did not respond to the chant. The crowd enthusiastically reacts only when she shouts “Hindustan Zindabad”. She is then stopped by the people on stage who tell her that she cannot raise such slogans.

In a video that has gone viral, the girl is seen taking the mike and trying to say something before people around her snatch the mike from her. She is heard saying “Hindustan Zindabad”. After the mike is taken away from her, she comes to the forefront of the stage and is heard saying, “The difference between Hindustan Zindabad and Pakistan Zindabad.” However, before she could complete the sentence, she is seen being led away from the stage.

Later, Owaisi said he does not know who the activist was. “This is condemnable. The organisers should have been careful in inviting such people. I would not have come here had I known there would be pro-Pakistan slogans. We are here to save India,” the MP said.

“The woman is not associated with us. Humare liye Bharat Zindabad tha, zindabad rahega,” ANI quoted Owaisi as saying.

The girl has been arrested and the police are interrogating her.
