As he took charge today as Chief Minister of Delhi for the third time, Arvind Kejriwal has a clear message for his cabinet colleagues, to hit the ground running to begin work on the ten commitments made during the campaign as 'Kejriwal's ten guarantees', and show tangible results in the coming three months.

Kejriwal has retained the same cabinet as his previous tenure, and the six ministers — Manish Sisodia, Satyendra Jain, Gopal Rai, Kailash Gehlot, Imraan Hussain and Rajendra Pal Gautam —also took charge at the Delhi Secretariat today.

The Chief Minister had over a dinner meeting with his cabinet colleagues on the eve of the oath-taking ceremony discussed priority initiatives and action terms for the Delhi government in the first hundred days.

The focus, he told the ministers, should be on delivering on the 'Kejriwal guarantee card', which represents a continuation of the schemes launched in the previous tenure relating to electricity and water supply as also reforms in the fields of education and healthcare, while also promising other initiatives, such as reducing pollution to a third of current levels, cleaning and rejuvenating the Yamuna, making Delhi garbage- and debris-free and appointing Mohalla Marshals for enhanced security for women.

The Chief Minister's directive to his ministers is that they should immediately after taking charge begin work on the ten guarantees.

“Our roadmap has two main elements. The first is to continue the good work done in the last five years and have a better implementation of those projects, and the second is to have an action plan to implement the ten guarantees that we gave to the people of Delhi in this election,” said Gopal Rai.

The same ministers have been retained to ensure continuity, and since the party leadership believes that the mandate is for continuing the work that was done by the AAP government in the last five years.

It is learnt that the ministers will largely continue to be in charge of the same departments as the previous term to ensure continuity. There is a feeling that since they are well aware of the progress in the various projects that fall under their purview, they will be better equipped to take them forward compared to a new person.
