JDU leader Ajay Alok called fellow party member Prashant Kishor, coronavirus, a deadly virus, that killed more than 130 people in China and affected several people around the world. Prashant Kishor, a known political strategist, was also touted to be Nitish Kumar's successor in JDU.

“This man is not trustworthy. He could not win the trust of Modijiand Nitishji. He works for AAP, talks to Rahul Gandhi, sits with Mamatadidi. Who will trust him? We are happy this coronavirus is leaving us, he can go wherever he wants to," party leader Ajay Alok said.

Prashant Kishor has been a vocal critic of the central government's amended citizenship law and has insisted that his party should contest in a significantly higher number of assembly seats than its ally, the BJP in Bihar election due this year.

CM Nitish Kumar said Kishor was inducted into JDU on the recommendation of the then BJP chief Amit Shah and Kishor did not take kindly to the comment and tweeted, “@NitishKumar what a fall for you to lie about how and why you made me join JDU!! Poor attempt on your part to try and make my colour same as yours! And if you are telling the truth who would believe that you still have the courage not to listen to someone recommended by @AmitShah?”

Nitish Kumar's comment was a response to journalists questioning him about Kishor's attack against Shah on Twitter and its possible impact on the JD(U)'s alliance with the BJP.
