Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi launched a frontal attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling him a “loudspeaker” of rich businessmen like Ambani and Adani. Addressing his first rally in poll-bound Haryana, the Congress MP also targeted Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.

"Narendra Modi is the loudspeaker of Ambani and Adani as he only talks about them all day," Rahul said.

He accused both Modi and Khattar of taking money from the pockets of the poor and giving it to his “rich friends”.

"Narendra Modi and Khattar are taking away your money and giving it to their 15 rich friends," Rahul said while speaking in Muslim-dominated Marora in Nuh district.

Congress is keen on wresting power from the BJP in the state where elections to the 90-member assembly will be held on October 21.

Taking a sarcastic jibe at Modi's monthly radio address Maan Ki Baat, the Congress star campaigner said he would instead do “Kaam Ki Baat”.

"Modi ji keeps making false claims. So does Khattar ji. They do Mann Ki baat. I thought I will do Kaam Ki Baat. And whatever I say today from this stage, it would be done, go and ask Congress-ruled states in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh," Rahul said.

Accusing Modi of making false promises, the Wayanad MP said: "I am not here to make false promises. This is Kaam Ki Baat. The Congress party is everyone''s party and we believe in uniting people."

The Congress in its manifesto has promised farm loan waiver, 33 per cent job quota for women in the government sector and cash incentives to educated jobless youth.

In an apparent reference to the recent 'Howdy Modi' event in Houston, which was attended by US President Donald Trump, Rahul said: "You will see Narendra Modi only with Trump and Ambani, but you will never see him with farmers.”
