Palghar bus accident: 49 students among 64 people injured

As many as 49 schoolchildren were injured after the bus they were travelling in fell into a canal in Palghar district of Maharashtra on Tuesday morning. A total of 64 people were injured in the Palghar accident, including 14 other passengers and the conductor.

The bus skidded off the road when the driver lost control after hitting a speedbreaker in Jambulpada in the morning. The vehicle, which was a bus operated by the state-owned MSRTC, had started its service from Pivli village to Vada around 6.30am on Tuesday.

According to TV9 Marathi, the injured were mostly children studying in schools in the area. They have been admitted to a local hospital, with some sustaining critical injuries.
