Several people sustained injuries as a major ruckus erupted during a programme of Haryanvi dancer Sapna Chaudhary at Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday night. The commotion started as many of her fans went out of control and tried to get on the stage.
The dance programme was organised by the District Agriculture Development and Cultural Exhibition Committee as part of the Moradabad Festival.
According to reports, police resorted to lathicharge to disperse the crowd. Eyewitnesses alleged gross mismanagement from the part of the organisers resulting the crowd even ransacking the area meant for VIP guests.
An ANI report claimed that a young woman was caught up in the crowd while trying to enter the stadium, prompting cops on duty to step in.
