Days after taking charge as the prime minister for the second consecutive term, Narendra Modi will fly down to Kerala to offer prayers at famous Sri Krishna temple in Guruvayur on Saturday.

The prime minister is scheduled to reach in Kochi on Friday night and will leave for Thrissur on Saturday morning. BJP Kerala unit president P.S. Sreedharan Pillai said Modi will visit the temple around 9.30-10.30 am.

Modi will also address the local BJP workers at the temple town. This will be the first time the prime minister is addressing the BJP workers after his party bagged a landslide victory in the Lok Sabha elections, the results of which were announced on May 23.

Modi's Kerala visit coincides with the tour of Congress president Rahul Gandhi to his constituency, Wayanad. Rahul landed at Kozhikode international airport around 2 pm on Friday and left for Wayanad in the afternoon and is scheduled to participate in at least 15 public receptions across the constituency in next two days.

Congress won 19 out of the 20 parliamentary seats in Kerala while the BJP failed yet again to open its account in the state. Rahul Gandhi, who lost Amethi to BJP's firebrand leader Smriti Irani in what could be the biggest upset of this election, won Wayanad with a majority of 4.32 lakh voters.
