Congress chief Rahul Gandhi on Saturday morning declared “it was clear the BJP was losing the Lok Sabha polls”.

Addressing a press conference at the Congress headquarters in Delhi, Gandhi said it was the “assessment” of the Congress party that the BJP was losing. Gandhi reiterated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi “was not talking about jobs anymore”. Gandhi declared, “farmers, corruption, employment and encroachment on institutions are the main issues” of the ongoing Lok Sabha polls.

Responding to questions, Gandhi said the BJP was running a “panicky campaign” and Modi was “scared”. Gandhi also reiterated that he stood by his 'chowkidar chor hai' slogan.

Referring to Modi's jibes at the Congress's claims of conducting surgical strikes while in office, Gandhi said the prime minister had not insulted the Congress, but the Army. Gandhi declared the “Army, Air Force or Navy were not the personal properties of Narendra Modi”.
