In a shocking incident, a 40-year-old man was burnt to death by his wife for allegedly opposing her “extra-marital relationship” at Govindi in Panchmahal district of Gujarat.
The incident took place on Wednesday night. Police said though Guruji Manorbhai Tadvi was rushed to a hospital in Godhra town, he succumbed to his burn injuries on Thursday morning. His wife Budhiben (40) has been arrested and booked under IPC section 302 (murder).
"The victim was having dinner at their house in the village when Budhiben started arguing with him over his opposition to her extra-marital affair. In a fit of rage, she poured kerosene on him and set him on fire," Godhra police station in-charge, inspector R.R. Desai said, according to PTI.
Police said the accused had left her husband two years ago and started living with her lover. But she settled the matter with Tadvi three months back and returned to stay with him.
