The admit cards for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2019 will be released at 4pm on Friday. Candidates will be able to download their admit cards from GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) website https://appsgate.iitm.ac.in/ after 4pm on Friday, informed the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT Madras) that conducts the GATE exam this year.

GATE is the national level engineering entrance examination for admission to master’s and direct doctoral programmes in engineering, technology, architecture and in other branches of science to the Indian Institute of Science and seven IITs. This year, GATE exams will be held on February 2, 3, 9 and 10—in four days across two sessions. The forenoon session will be conducted from 9:30am to 12:30pm, while the afternoon session will be held between 2:30pm and 5:30pm. The exam schedule is available on the official website—gate.iitm.ac.in or appsgate.iitm.ac.in.

How to download the admit card 

1. Visiting the official website of GATE at gate.iitg.ac.in

2. Click on Admit Card link on the homepage

3. Enter your enrollment ID/email address and password

4. Enter the Captcha

5. Click on submit

6. Download and save the admit card for future reference

Candidates should note that the admit cards for GATE 2019 will not be sent by post or as e-mail. The admit card will have details such as the exam date and centre of the candidate. Candidates have to appear at their respective GATE examination centres on the date and time specified in their admit cards. In addition to a copy of the downloaded GATE 2019 admit card, candidates should also carry an original and valid photo identity document such as Passport, PAN card, Voter ID, Aadhaar card, College ID, Employee ID or Driving Licence to the examination venue for verification on the exam day. 

Candidates should ensure that their photograph and signature images are clear and legible on the admit card. Otherwise, it could lead to disqualification. It is to be noted that the photograph on the admit card and that in the valid photo identity document should match with the appearance of the candidate on the day of examination.

GATE 2019 result : March 16

The exam will be conducted for 24 subjects, including aerospace engineering, agricultural engineering, architecture and planning, biotechnology, civil engineering, chemical engineering, instrumentation engineering, mathematics and mechanical engineering, among other subjects.
