DySP B. Harikumar, accused in the Neyyattinkara murder case, has allegedly committed suicide. He was found hanging at his neighbour's house in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday morning, reports said.
Harikumar was accused of pushing 32-year-old Sanalkumar in front of a moving car following a minor scuffle on November 5.
The case, which was being investigated by Crime Branch Superintendent of Police K.M. Antony, was transferred to IG Sreejith after Sanal's family sought a probe by an IPS officer.
Demanding a CBI inquiry into the case, opposition leader in Kerala Assembly Ramesh Chennithala had alleged that the state government was trying to derail the probe.
