Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said the Congress is failing to find allies in India to throw him out of power and so is looking for partners outside the country. Modi was addressing a massive gathering of BJP activists—Karyakarta Mahakumbh—to mark the birth anniversary celebrations of co-founder of Janasangh Deendayal Upadhyay.

Modi said, “I have been abused by the Congress in all possible ways, and yet we have flourished”. Accusing the grand old party of indulging in votebank politics, Modi said the party is not in favour of abolishing triple talaq which is not even present in many Islamic countries. It is a shame that a party whose top leader is a woman is against triple talaq, he said.

The prime minister said time has come for the Congress leaders and workers to think why they have come to such a low that they have been reduced to less than 50 seats in Parliament. He claimed that the BJP is a party which has embraced the ideas of Mahatma Gandhi, Ram Manohar Lohia and Deendayal Upadhyay.

Speaking on the protests against the amended Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act by various caste groups in the state, he said, “Our founding fathers have laid down the principles for us to follow. It is our duty to bring policies for the development of all the sections of the society. The votebank politics is eating away our country like termites. Saving the country from votebank politics and its collateral damage is the objective of BJP. Those promoting votebank politics did not care about that development.”

Praising the Madhya Pradesh government, Modi said the state has developed under the leadership of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan.

Earlier, the chief minister  attacked Congress president Rahul Gandhi for calling him a random machine of promises. He termed Rahul Gandhi a "fun machine" for hugging the prime minister inside the Parliament and later winking. “He (Rahul Gandhi) called me ‘announcement machine’, but he is a ‘fun machine’,” the CM said.

Party president Amit Shah too attacked Rahul Gandhi and asked people of Madhya Pradesh to get connected with the BJP through Namo app so that they can get direct information from the party headquarters.

All the leaders expressed hopes that the BJP will form government for the fourth time in Madhya Pradesh.
