Court stays construction of Akhilesh Yadav's hotel in Lucknow

Former chief minister Akhilesh Yadav has been receiving one blow after the other  Initially he was asked to vacate his official residence which was allotted to him after he ceased to be the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh. Then, there was a lot of hue and cry about the bungalow he left in shambles when he vacated it. But, the former chief minister has received a fresh jolt  as the Allahabad high court has stalled construction of a hotel belonging to him in high a security zone of Lucknow with immediate effect. The court has directed concerned parties a to file a reply soon.

Justice Vikramnath and Justice Abdul Moin, have passed this order after hearing the petition of one Shishir Chaturvedi, in which the petitioner has raised the objection about the construction of a multi storyed hotel in the swish area of the city and had urged the court to declare it unlawful.

There are 13 people who have been made party by the petitioner in this case, prominent among them are SP, patron Mulayam Singh Yadav, national president of the party Akhilesh Yadav and his wife, MP Dimple Yadav.

The next hearing in this case will be on September 5. The court has asked the authorities concerned to stop immediately any construction work going on plot number 19-A, where the hotel is coming up. The court has asked to submit photographs of construction site.

Akhilesh Yadav had submitted an application to the LDA (Lucknow Development Authority ) for the construction of the proposed hotel. According to sources in the LDA, for the time being the department has decided to defer this application in this connection. Meanwhile, the court has also directed the state authorities to provide adequate protection to the petitioner as he has been receiving threats from unknown people for pursuing this case.
