At least 27 people were feared dead when a bus fell into a roadside pit and caught fire in Bihar's East Champaran district on Thursday, Disaster Management Department Minister Dinesh Chandra Yadav said.
The accident occurred under the Kotwa police station area, over 75km from the state capital, reports PTI.
The bus was on its way to Delhi from Muzaffarpur.
According to media reports, a police official said only four people could be rescued from the bus.
Rescue operations were under way and the death toll is expected to go up.
