A 16-year-old girl has alleged that her parents tried to coax her into changing her statement in court in favour of the two men who had raped her. Her parents, she alleged, had taken money from the two men. The incident occured at Delhi's Aman Vihar area, the police said on Tuesday.
The girl approached the police on April 10 with the help of her neighbours. A case has been filed after taking into account the girl's statement. According to PTI reports, the father is on the run but the mother was arrested.
The girl has complained that her parents forced her to change the statement in court after taking Rs 5 lakh from the accused, police said. She said that when she refused to change her statement, the beat her.
The girl had gone missing in August last year after which her parents had filed a police complaint. She returned after a week and told police that she was held captive by two men who raped her. She was then left at an abandones spot from where she reached home. The two men were arrested.
