Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati has given a clear cut indication that the alliance between her party and the Samajwadi Party would continue in near future. Mayawati today in Lucknow said that the pact between both the parties has been done in the national interest and there is no selfish motive behind it. She also said clearly that all the opposition parties will have to come together to stop the march of the BJP.

The BSP chief has also launched a scathing attack on the BJP. Today at the press conference held in her residence, she said that the Union government in its four-and-half-years of rule staged a drama on welfare of dalits, but they would not gain anything out of it.

Mayawati also said that in the programme Mann ki baat, the prime minister does not subscribe to the views of B.R. Ambedkar and that is why the people have kept the BJP out of power for so many years. She alleged that prime minister do take the name of Ambedkar but is not interested in the welfare of dalits and this is vindicated by the fact that the BJP resorted to all those tactics so as to ensure the defeat of BSP candidate Bhimrao Ambedkar. “And to defeat BSP candidate, the BJP fielded an extra candidate in the Rajya Sabha polls,” she added.

She said that the BJP is perturbed with the growing proximity between the BSP and SP, and has been coming out with irrelevant statements. She said, “BSP and SP have come together to end the misrule of the BJP.”

Refering to the upcoming general elections, Mayawati urged the opposition parties to come together to prevent the BJP from coming back to power.

It may be recalled that the BSP candidate lost in the Rajya Sabha polls due to cross voting and Akhilesh Yadav’s inability to transfer the SP votes to the BSP kitty.
