In a shocking incident, an 18-year-old man was brutally killed in Mumbai by his friend in the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday. If reports are to be believed, the motive of the murder is that the victim used to belittle the accused by speaking to him only in English.

According to reports, Mohammed Amir Abdul Wahid Rahin (21) slit his friend Mohammed Afroz Alam Shaikh's throat and stabbed him 54 times before walking into the Shahu Nagar police station around 1 am to confess his crime.

Shaikh’s body was found later at an isolated place near Raheja bridge in Mahim. Rahin reportedly told police that he killed Shaikh out of anger as the latter used to tease him always by speaking in English.

According to police, Rahin had been planning the murder for a week. On Wednesday, the accused took Shaikh to Bandra on the pretext of treating him to a drink. “Both of them bought beer. After a while, Rahin followed Shaikh into the toilet at the place there were drinking in and slit his throat with a knife,” reads a report in the Hindustan Times.
