As his government celebrates the first anniversary of its coming to power, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Monday that the state, which was once notorious for divisive, caste-based dynastic politics, had overcame these maladies after his government assumed office. “Now, UP has been witnessing rapid development,” he claimed.

In a scintillating function, complete with folk music and dance, Adityanath sought to showcase the achievements of his government in its first year, without mentioning anything about the recent bypoll debacle.

The chief minister said, “Today, one year ago, my government had assumed the charge of the state and it was due to planned and concerted teamwork of the government that we reached the last person standing on the social ladder.”

The function, which was held in Lok Bhavan in Lucknow, saw a massive gathering of ministers, MLAs and other BJP party cadres.

Speaking as the chief guest in the function, Adityanath bitterly assailed previous governments, without naming them. The highlight of the function was a portal launched by the chief minister to counter corruption in various government departments. Video and audio clips depicting corrupt practices can be uploaded on this anti-corruption portal and the government would provide quick relief to aggrieved persons without disclosing their identities.

Adityanath said his government was trying its best to extend the reach of various development schemes to the poor and the have-nots of society. On the occasion, the chief minister released a booklet titled Ek Saal, Nai Misaal (One Year, New Examples), which highlighted various achievements of the Adityanath government in the past one year.

In order to curb corruption, the government introduced e-tenders in various departments for bidding, said the chief minister.

The chief minister specifically spoke about attracting investments in the state through the recently held UP Investors Summit, police reforms, anti-romeo squads, and reforms done in the power sector.

Highlighting the measures for the welfare of farmers, the chief minister said in the very first cabinet meeting of his government, it wrote off the loans of small and marginal farmers of up to Rs 1 lakh, which put a burden of Rs 36,000 crore on the state exchequer.

UP Governor Ram Naik, speaking on the occasion, hailed the one–year achievements of the Adityanath government.
