The Bombay High Court will continue hearing the bail plea of Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan, arrested in connection with the case of drugs seizure by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) aboard a cruise ship off the Mumbai coast on October 3, on Wednesday.

This would mean that he would have to spend another day in Arthur Road Jail in Mumbai, where he has been lodged for over two weeks. The hearing will resume at 2.30 pm on Wednesday.

Appearing for Aryan Khan, former attorney general Mukul Rohatgi, on Tuesday, pointed out that his arrest is turning out to be an "unsavoury controversy" and added that the case garnered media attention only because of his client’s parents.

Rohatgi argued that Aryan has nothing to tamper with if released on bail as there was no recovery of drugs from him. “When there is no recovery or consumption, then what evidence will I (Aryan Khan) tamper with?"

He sought bail for Aryan, citing his client’s age.

Rohatgi claimed that co-accused Achit and his client played online poker and some of the chats that the NCB has relied on referred to this, and had nothing to do with the case in question.

Aryan has nothing to do with the controversies surrounding NCB zonal head Sameer Wankhede, the court was told.
