Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan visited Mumbai's Arthur Road Jail on Thursday morning to meet his son Aryan Khan. Aryan, who was denied bail on Wednesday, was arrested on October 3 in the drugs seizure case.

Shah Rukh's visit followed the Maharashtra government easing restrictions on jail visits amid the pandemic, NDTV stated in a report. This is Shah Rukh's first public appearance after his son's arrest. He has reportedly cancelled all his shoots.

Aryan was arrested after the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) raided a cruise ship and busted a drugs party off the coast of Mumbai. He was held under Section 8C, 20B, 27 read with 35 of the NDPS Act. Besides Aryan, the others arrested were Arbaaz Merchant, Munmun Dhamecha, Ismeet Singh, Mohak Jaswal, Gomit Chopra, Nupur Sarika, and Vikrant Chhokar. A special NDPS court on Wednesday rejected the bail pleas of Aryan, Arbaaz and Munmun.

Ahead of the bail verdict, the NCB submitted more WhatsApp chats in court on Wednesday. “Police has found drug-related WhatsApp chats that are allegedly between Aryan Khan and a debut actress,” the ANI quoted the NCB in a tweet. However, the actress's name has not been revealed.

Aryan's lawyers have approached the Bombay High Court for bail.
