Malayalam actress Saranya passed away in Thiruvananthapuram on Monday. The 35-year-old actress had been battling a rare form of brain tumour for many years and had undergone 11 surgeries.
Her health worsened after she contracted COVID-19 recently. Even though she tested negative for the virus later, she suffered from multiple post-COVID complications and was put on ventilator support, according to reports. Saranya, a favourite among television viewers in Kerala, was diagnosed with brain tumour in 2008. With multiple surgeries, the actress and her mother faced severe financial crunch.
Besides TV serials, Saranya has also acted in movies like Chotta Mumbai, Thalappavu among others.
