Actor Shah Rukh Khan, was 'heartbroken' after the Indian women's hockey team went down to Great Britain in bronze match at the Tokyo Olympics on Friday. Khan said the team has been a great inspiration and that itself is a victory.

He tweeted: “Heartbreak!!! But all reasons to hold our heads high. Well played Indian Women's Hockey Team. You all inspired everyone in India. That itself is a victory.”

Khan, who essayed the role of the Indian women hockey's team coach Kabir Khan in Chak De! India, has been constantly supporting the women through their Olympics journey. His interesting banter with the team coach Sjoerd Marijne after the team led by Rani Rampal, beat Australia 1-0, was trending on the internet.

Actress Sagarika Ghatge, who played the role of state champion Preeti Sabarwal playing for India in Chak De! India, called it a spectacular game and lifted the team's spirits. She tweeted: "What a spectacular game. You girls are just unreal and to have the whole nation wake up and watch you play against Great Britain and fight hard is the biggest victory for all of us."
