'When will acche din come?': Twitter users have a host of questions for Chellam sir from ‘The Family Man’

With season 2 of The Family Man dropping on Amazon Prime Video last week, the actors have been receiving rave reviews. While Manoj Bajpayee and Samantha Akkineni may have developed their own fan following among the viewers, there is another actor who has emerged everyone’s favourite—Tamil actor Uday Mahesh. Uday Mahesh portrayed the character of Chellam sir, a retired agent who helps Srikant Tiwari (Bajpayee) with information at crucial points of the investigation.

Though the character has very less screen time, he has become immensely popular, with social media fans even demanding a separate spin-off for the character.

Twitter is flooded with hilarious memes connecting Chellam sir to real-life situations. Much like Srikant who dials Chellam sir for answers to very crucial questions in the plot, some users have come out with one-liners that seek Chellam sir’s help to answer questions like—‘when will acche din come?’, ‘what happened to money in PM Cares fund?’, ‘when will I get a girlfriend?’ and so on.

Even Bajpayee, in a tweet thanking the team for the season’s immense success, gave a special mention to Chellam sir.

"There's a lot of work that goes into making a season. I will be very happy if Amazon, and Raj and DK decide to do a season three but before that the writing has to be complete. All the formalities need to be finished. I'm ecstatic that people have started demanding season three," Bajpayee said recently.
