As Karnataka reels under the second COVID-19 wave, Kannada actor Arjun Gowda has come forward to help people in a unique way. The actor turned ambulance driver to help take patients to hospitals and help those who need assistance to organise final rites of their dear ones.

Speaking to the Times of India, he said: “I've been on the road for a couple of days, and I've already helped out around half a dozen people with assistance for final rites. We want to ensure that we help out anyone in need irrespective of where they come from or what religion they practice.”

He said: "I took someone who lives in Bangalore's Kengeri all the way to Whitefield to get that person admitted in the hospital.”

He said that he plans on continuing this for a few more months as the current situation is very bad. He added that he is also ready to help with delivering oxygen to those who need it. “I want to help in whatever way I can.”

As the second wave rages on in the country, many celebrities are extending a helping hand to those in need. While many contribute to relief funds, others are collaborating with NGOs and social workers to help with oxygen, food supplies and more. Besides helping COVID-19 patients and families, celebrities are also supporting the frontline warriors.

Arjun has acted in films such as Yuvarathnaa and Rustum.
