After Akshay Kumar, 45 crew members of 'Ram Setu' test positive for COVID-19

A day after Akshay Kumar tested positive for COVID-19, it has been confirmed that 45 crew members of his ongoing film Ram Setu have also tested positive for the virus.

Ram Setu has been taking full precautions. It is really unfortunate that 45 people from our Junior Artistes Association have tested positive. They have been quarantined, " the Indian Express quoted Ashok Dubey, general secretary, Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), as saying.

According to reports, more than 100 people were tested as part of precautionary measures. The shoot of the film has been halted.

Akshay took to social media on Sunday to confirm his diagnosis. He wrote: I wish to inform everyone that earlier this morning I tested positive for Covid-19. Following all the protocols, I have immediately isolated myself. I’m under home quarantine and have sought necessary medical care. I would sincerely request all those that have come in contact with me to get themselves tested and take care. Back in action soon.”

Akshay is the lates Bollywood celebrity to test positive for COVID-19 after Ranbir Kapoo, Aamir Khan, and Alia Bhatt among others.

Ram Setu also features Jacqueline Fernandez and Nushratt Bharuccha. Earlier this month, the film's team flew to Ayodhya to attend a puja before kick-starting the shooting schedule. Ram Setu is directed by Abhishek Sharma and produced by Aruna Bhatia and Vikram Malhotra.
