Mohanlal endorses BJP's E Sreedharan ahead of Kerala assembly polls, wishes him best

We still need his services to lead the country in the path of development, he said

Even as the Kerala assembly elections is a few days away, Mollywood actor Mohanlal came out in praise of BJP's high-profile recruit 'Metroman' E Sreedharan, and wished him all the best in the elections.

"Kerala has a personality that every Indian can be proud of, E. Sreedharan. The man whose willpower led to the construction of Pamban Bridge, that was damaged, in 46 days," the actor said, and hailed the BJP candidate's "almost impossible" feet of making Konkan Railway a reality.

Recalling his contributions to the nation by way of leading the construction of Delhi and Kochi Metro, Mohanlal said Sreedharan is an incorruptible person who gives back the funds remaining after completing that the task that was assigned to him. We still need his services to lead the country in the path of development. I wish Sreedharan sir all the very best," the actor said in a video message.

Sharing the message on Twitter, Sreedharan wrote: "Thank you @Mohanlal for the kind gesture and good wishes. Your contribution to the film is highly commendable. Together we can build a new Kerala"

Sreedharan will take on sitting Congress MLA Shafi Parambil in Palakkad in the April 6 polls. The octogenarian had expressed confidence that the NDA will form the government in Kerala. He had also said he is "open to chief ministership if BJP comes to power in Kerala".

Earlier, Sreedharan had said said he had been a BJP supporter "from the beginning and had an affinity to its ideals ever since his childhood".
