Actress Soni Razdan has been quite vocal on Twitter about the ongoing COVID-19 vaccination drive. Recently, she had said that actors should also be allowed to take the vaccination on priority because they would be exposed on film sets as they had no option to work with their masks on. On Wednesday, she asked why those in the most active age group of 16-40 years are not being vaccinated first.

Tagging Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray and Aditya Thackeray, she tweeted, "When it’s really the 16 to 40 age group that’s ‘socialising’ going out to work, bars, nightclubs etc (the last 2 without masks mostly) just can’t understand why they aren’t getting the vaccine first. @uddhavthackeray @AUThackeray."

Earlier, in her appeal to allow actors also to be given priority, she tweeted: "So many actors get COVID and are at huge risk when working. I mean we actually can’t wear masks. But no one seems to think they need to be able to take the vaccine yet It’s a profession none the less. People need to work right. Others can do so wearing protection but actors are the only people who cannot ! And so .. (sic)."

Razdan had raised this point after actor Ranbeer Kapoor tested positive for COVID-19. On Wednesday, Aamir Khan's spokesperson confirmed that the actor has also tested positive and in under self quarantine at home.
